The Pentagon Press Association serves as the voice of journalists covering the citadel of the U.S. military: the Pentagon.
Its survival and strength is a tribute to the collective efforts of its members and dedicated officers as today’s reporters cover the military from the Pentagon to the frontlines in Afghanistan.
Armed with by-laws, a four-member executive committee and membership book, the PPA aims to be a cohesive and vital force promoting the interests of its members on three fronts.
1. Engaging the Department of Defense in questions of access, requirements for coverage and other issues of concern to the media
2. Organizing forums for the exchange of views with top policymakers
3. Providing an electronic “grapevine” for the rapid communication of opportunities and other news pertinent to journalists covering the beat
The PPA is based on principle of complete transparency, communication, and fairness toward all sectors of the Defense Department press corps.
It is your organization and we welcome your input on any issue.
